Hawaii Island police are asking for the public’s help in locating a stolen pickup truck.

Sometime between Dec. 28 and 29, a lowered primer-black 1986 Toyota two-wheel-drive pickup truck was taken from Honokaa town, according to the Hawaii County Police Department. The truck’s license plate is HJV353. It may be in the Hilo area.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the truck or the identity of the person operating is asked to call Officer John Kalauli at 775-7533 or the department’s nonemergency line at 935-3311.

Those who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up $1,000. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
